According to sources close to the band,
SAMMY HAGAR and the rest of VAN HALEN are currently locked away in a California studio. No word on whether they are recording a couple of tracks for the much talked about Best Of Vol. II or a full studio record. Insiders say that the band will use the Sammy Hagar pre-Super Bowl show to make the announcement of a reunion (thus ensuring international press coverage). Meanwhile, VAN HALEN bassist
Michael Anthony has posted the following post-NAMM comments at his website: "Michael's brand-new Jack Daniel's bass made it's debut at this year's NAMM convention in Anaheim, CA. Fans in line to meet the mighty bassist at the Yamaha booth had the chance to get a look at it up close and personal while posing for pictures, getting autographs and throwin' out the questions! We're currently sorting through the bash of pictures, so stay tuned for photos! Speaking of the Jack Daniel's bass, due to some last minute technical difficulties, it's debut here at Mad Anthony's Cafe had to be delayed.
