Sammy Hagar has declined to rejoin
Van Halen. On Thanksgiving day, Ed
sobered up and flew out to Sammy's house. He brought his brother Alex
along and the two of them met with Sammy for several hours. The VH Bros.
offered to rename the band "Van Hagar", to give Sammy the biggest cut of
royalties from the new album, publicly apologize to Hagar during next
year's Super Bowl halftime show and buy 100,000 bottles of expired and
unsold overstock of Cabo Wabo tequila. Sammy declined the offers and
said he was "happy" now and was looking forward to the new album with
the Waboritas entitled "Red Cabo, Love Deep".
