Oreo Cookie Blues
I wasn't sure whether to put this in the Lounge or here. It is great music. Anyway some of us were discussing this song, I mentioned that someone had done an animation to it and promised to find it and post it. Lonnie Mack on guitar and vox, and SRV on 2nd guitar. I'm still trying to find a copy of "Virtual Angus" which is just great also.

Hey that was great! I believe that was me who inquired about this tune. Thanks for finding and posting it. Some detailed animation in the plucking of the strings. I like that they were performing on the cookie baking sheet. That was clever. I'm kinda hungry now actually.
On a related note, I am attaching a recording that A Koo Stick and I worked on a couple of weekends ago. It is of the old OREO commercial jingle. Recently I heard an ad on the radio by Randy Jackson (American Idol judge) stating that there was a contest for who could do the best updated version of an old classic OREO jingle (winner would receive $10,000 and would get to hang with Randy Jackson for the day). A Koo Stick was coming over later that day to work on some jams so I proposed the idea to him. During our quest to find that jingle, we found an OREO jingle that was from even before the one proposed for the contest. When we heard it, we just kept laughing at how silly and 60s sounding it was. We listened to it over and over again and kept laughing. We decided to say "Screw it" regarding the version we were supposed to do for the contest and decided to work on the older jingle. It is currently about half way done as far as overall production. I still need to add my vocal harmonies and replace one of the two piano melodies with an acoustic guitar, and also replace the temp drum track with a more consistent and better sounding drum sample (I just threw the current drum track together to provide some timing for us to begin building the different parts). Koo is singing on this and I do the kid and announcer voice-overs in the middle and beginning. I will post an updated version in the covers & tributes section after we finish it. But this should give you a little taste of where we are heading so far. Have fun!

That's great KC, strangely enough, I think I remember that jingle.
