hey guys and gals ,
as you may know velvet revolver is currently touring europe , missing the show in norway by a few days i really wanted to see them live here in Budapest , i got the tickets only 2 days before the show since most of the foreigner students are busy with the exam period and it took a while to find some ppl to go with,
anyhow , the show was in a nice area they call the CityPark , the beer was cheap and the weather was awsome , we got there at 4:00 pm and the show was supposed to start at 8:00 pm ,so we had a few hours for drinking , the opening band did a half hour show until 8:30 , they sucked big time , velvet revolver started at about 9:15 , giving us a good break to sober up ,
they started the show with
Sucker Train Blues ,which was a blast , the crowd went wild and we were pushed to the front row , slash was playing a Bc.Rich mockingbird ,they were all very energetic ,running on the stage and scott was very close to the crowd all the time it looked like he'd be diving in any moment, they played Superhuman ,Illegal i song and Big machine , they also did Its so easy which was followed by some improv. by slash and dave kushner (dave also played some really nice lead guitar) , the crowd really loved it,and then they started Fall to pieces and everyone seemed to know the words .
they left the stage for a minute or so, slash came on with a beautiful red doubleneck wearing his top hat, duff joined soon and they started playing Wish you were here (pink floyd) the crowd went nuts and everyone was singing,scott's voice was really AMAZING on this one,and everybody loved it , next was Lovin' the alien , slash still playing the doubleneck , he changed to a beautifull burst lespaul for the next one wich was......MR.Brownstone .....everyone seemed to know the words and they ended it in a very nice way with scott bending backwards , some feedback and matt sorum ripping it up for half a minute or so ...
the second break for a minute ..., slash came out and talked about how much he loves the city and that he's having a "good fuckin' time" , scott came on nearly bending over our heads and talked about how rock and roll comes from the heart , he started to tap the microphone on his chest with matt and duff getting a nice rhythm and the crowd started clapping with them moving to Sex type thing (
stone temple pilots) , they played Headspace , You got no right , Dirty little thing and eneded the show with Slither, dave and slash threw some picks in the crowd and matt stood up on his chair and got rid of his drum sticks,,,,
we stood on the back waitng to get autographs but they announced that its not gonna happen for security reasons,,,it was 11:30 pm so we just called a cab and headed for the afterparty
it was a lot of fun.
