its perfectly fine if you got it, i know a good guitarist in town that has it.. we jam a bit.
I had it a few years back but now ive learned to enjoy the spotlight... dare i say i actually get a little irritated if people don't pay attention

Everyone gets stage fright - even the biggest stars. It's a sign that you care - that you want to do your best.
A couple of belts of Johnny Walker helps sometimes too

I'm not at all afraid of stages. It's playing in front of a bunch of people that makes me nervous.

I'll tell ya, when I first started playing live, used to scare the shit outta me!!! That was many years ago, but with time, confidence in your playing, and doing it over, and over again, it will be second nature. Also, having other people on stage with ya helps as well, at least it did with me. Now I just hang it out there, and enjoy myself.....

Many years ago, when I first started playing in clubs, I would literally turn my back to the stage, and I let my hair grow really long, so that I could face the people, but I could hang my head down and hide behind my hair. eventually I started to be able to control the fright, I don't think it ever really went away, you just learn to deal with it.

I've never been nervous AT ALL...not sure why...I think maybe I'm just to easy-going of a guy to get all bent up about things. The only thing that happens to me is the bigger the gig, the more anxious I get. Some of the same symptoms as being nervous haha, but I'm not actually nervous at all. One of the things I have noticed though is that playing to bigger crowds always helps me. The bigger the crowd the more comfortable I am. When I was first playing shows with my bands I was playing to like 20-50 people. Now, after playing the House of Blues, which was at least 1000 people, I realize how much easier that is to do than little crowds.

Always !! I think its a good thing to have it but not like it was in the early days!!. Myself and the other 3 members of the band once shared a hand basin to honk up in just before we went on stage. We used the managers toothbrush to help the lumpy bits down the drain. Needless to say my voice was shite that night !!!!! Oh and my hair was a little matted and my breath wreaked !!!!!!

Well I must have all but shit my pants on my first gig. After that I never got nervous save for a few notable occasions. Playing to Hells Angels on the Isle Of Wight was one. and playing to a bunch of mobsters in london was another. Most of the time I had a massive "don't give a fk attitude" - whether it was in front of 20 people or 7-7000. I always believed in the bands I was playing with and it always came good. Towards the end when I joined a cover band (the only time I even considered doing such a thing) we got some really cool gigs. We supported BB King, James Brown, Edwin Star, Squeeze, Jools Holland, Alan Price and loads more. I never felt upstaged or nervous. I was just happy to be part of the occasion.
For the record the hells angels gig was very cool in the end and the turf war gangs of london gig was also pretty fun. Provided you at least try to entertain your audience and make the show fun it normally works out fine. Provided you remember that the audience is not there waiting to see you play diatonic triads in each of 8 keys in every solo. They just want to be entertained. A proficient musician is capable of entertaining any audience imho - you don't have to outplay everyone in the universe
