I read about this Brit band today in Guitar World.

What a revelation! I went on their Web site and watched some of their videos. [img]images/smilies/rock.gif[/img]
I'm so glad these kids are doing this brand of guitar rock in this day and age. [img]images/smilies/icon_jam.gif[/img]
Catchy melodies, twin guitar harmonies on Les Pauls [img]images/smilies/icon_jam.gif[/img], Queen-like tone and dynamics, and a truly unique voice... and they even play solos!

Check them out for yourselves and tell me what y'all think.

Bet you heard 'I believe In A Thing Called Love' yeah? I'll wait for the difficult second album but if they make a parent buy a kid a guitar rather than 12 dancing lessons and a make-up kit, I'll be happier for one!

They are a Parody, but a fuckin' good one at that. But the songs are good, and they can play. Just check out some live performances, he noodles all the way through inbetween songs.

But I hope the second album is as good as the first, and that they are around for a while...

Parody? Mmm! I'll take this parody anytime of day.

They can play and the singer's not belching in the microphone for once. They don't need to be detuned to B flat to rock either!

I hope they make a mark on the rock scene. [img]images/smilies/rock.gif[/img] Plus it's time decent rocks comes out of the UK and take some kids away from that nu-metal garble. [img]images/smilies/icon_thumb.gif[/img]

I cant stand the singing but hey its better than all the rapcrap rock.I find it hard to believe that modern music has no solo's in it.a turntable is not a instrument in my book.the darkness remind me of spinal tap in a way.I bet in 5 years no one will remember them.just my thoughts.

I think a lot of what we hear today is inspired from something else. I don't know how possible it is to sound completely original.
Music, not unlike fashion, has been experiencing cycles.

Once you set your building blocks of rock music with the Stones, Beatles, Led Zep, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, you've got your bases covered, and everyone else has been doing a certain spinoff or interpretation of these bases or a combination of several.
Same thing goes for the R&B for instance IMO...

Anyways, I'll go and listen to these guys again tonight and figure out if I like them enough to buy an album.

Well, it's an album I've always meant to buy, but I'm getting it as a birthday present. I think they're cool. Good music and funny, great in my book !

I wouldn't say they're better than some of the bands already mentioned, but at this moment in time, they're one of the best bands around !!!
