Question

Thin Lizzy???

Any fans here? If so, what's your favorite album, and what albums did Gary Moore play on?

Only have one of their cd's, but it's one of my favorites of all time. That would be Jailbreak. Just a great album from top to bottom. Love that duel guitar sound of theirs.

Gary Moore only played on two studio cd's, but had a handful of studio tracks with Lizzy. He played an absolutely incredible version of "Still In Love With You" on Nightlife in 1973 and played entire album on Black Rose in 1979.

Do yourself a favor and check out some Colosseum II and the wonderful "Cat" he played on Peter and The Wolf CD

I was over in Cork, Ireland 2 years, and nobody had heard of Gary Moore. So I asked if they had heard of Thin Lizzy... oh yea!! I landed in Ireland the day that they unveiled the Phil Lynot statue over there.

My favorite song is "Cold Sweat" live. Is that John Sykes on that one?

thin lizzzy is one of mine favorites bands of all time. i was lucky to see them a few times. Special with J Sykes he give the band at that point the boost. So two of the best albums are live and dangerous and thunder and lighting. Gary moore play at Black rose & live in Sydney(The boys are back in town)

Definitely one of my all-time favorite bands.

As for fav albums, I would have to say 'Live & Dangerous' overall, but as for studio releases, I would have to go with 'Bad Reputation'.

But, can't go wrong with any of them.

Cool

Cowboy song is a classic!! I'd have to say Jailbreak regardless. Phil Lynott was a badass too!.... Anyone know if Gary moore was playing on the cowboy song track?

No, Gary wasn't on 'Jailbreak'. That was the classic Gorham/Robertson line-up.

Great band. Overall, my favourite era has to be the Gorham - Robertson lead era 1975-1978.

Best albums:

Jailbreak
Live and Dangerous
Johnny The Fox
Black Ro Rose

I love Thin Lizzy!
Black Rose is my fave album. It features Gary Moore and has some killer tunes
and some of the solos are smoking!! They had so many great songs.
R.I.P. Phil Lynott, he was an amazing bass player. Even better when you consider he sang lead and played at the same time. His vocal phrasing was often just before or just after the beat, so being able to lay a water tight bass line and sing that way is amazing.
