I put death up three times for emphasis, and because they released 3 albums that were soooooo different that they sound like different bands. (Spiritual Healing, Symbolic, and Sound of Perserverence) They released other albums but those are the reaaal different ones. Buy their albums. seriously. like go right now. it'll make you better at guitar lol
Yeah man I'm really glad to see more Death fans around here. Did you read the article Guitar World had about Chuck Schuldiner? It's good that he is finally getting more recognition as a guitarist and all around person.
"No more turning away from the weak and the weary. No more turning away from the coldness inside. Just a world that we all must share. It’s not enough just to stand and stare. Is it only a dream that there’ll be no more turning away?"

Heck yea man he was a great person. Not your typical Death Metal guitarist by todays standards at all. Now it's filled with a bunch of stupid satanists and losers (except for a select few). I actually walked into a guitar store the other day and there was a dude playing all these riffs from Individual Thought Patterns!
oh yeah and (just in case) if you're a satanist then don't take offense to what I said cuz im just some a-hole anyway lol

Agreed. I love Chucks ability to make every solo both technical AND moving. That seems to be a lost art amongst modern day death metal guitarists.
I've been listening to a lot of newer metal bands lately and I felt impressed to list these bands:
Dimmu Borgir
Meshuggah - 8-string guitar madness
Dragonforce - beyond insane
Necrophagist Dream Theater - they definateyly have some pretty awesome metal songs. Check out the Dark Eternal Night from their new album. It defines badass.
