Triumph... TOTALLY amazing band!
I've been listing to Triumph for a long while now and have always liked their music but then i heard the amazing solo on Rock n' Roll Machine... WOW... amazing solo... PERFECT solo for the title of the song... as the guitar player is a total machine... I dont even remember the guitar players name right now, but wow is he good!
Does anyone else like these guys music? I know they are quite underrated but wow.. great band!

Triumph are an awesome band, and with Rush, they defined the Canadian musical landscape.
Rik Emmet was the guitarist. He is amazing both on guitar and vocals.
Triumph's live album, Stages, is incredible! Check it out when you get some time

I do like Rik Emmet. Don't hear much about him these days. There was a tune that really got things kicking for them..."Fight the Good Fight." He also is one heck of a good classical player.

My all time favorite tune of theirs is Magic Power. That songs sounds so damn good to my ears.

....and "The Blinding Light Show"! I saw them many times back then, now I hear Rick won't have anything to do with Triumph. In fact I think he gave all the rights to the material to the two other guys!

I saw them several times myself back in the early 80's and was never disappointed! All very class musicians and in my opinion Allied Forces might've been their best album.

yeaH WELL
MAYBE RIK JUST DON'T CARE ANYMORE
HE's been so busy with his jazz chops that he doen't care for rock anymore.......
it's my opinion that he was the driving force behind the band
c'mon Gil MOOre a drummer
Mike levine a bass player c'mon
no they were great back then but this is now ...........life goes on
blindin light show yeah that was a really good tune especially the guitar interlude.....
one of my favorite was TIME GOES BY
JUST A GAME WAS A STRONG ALBUM TOO EVEN IF IT HAD 8 OR 9 SONGS ON IT...........

I saw 'em on the 1980 Tour at Hammersmith Odeon on the 'Allied Forces'...there was a lot of yap from them how they were bigger and better than Rush! C'mon...decent straight ahead rock band with classical leanings (I remember learning that guitar interlude to 'Blinding Light Show' when I was 18 and was pleased as punch) but the same year Rush brought out 'Permanent Waves' swiftly followed by 'Moving Pictres'...Triumph were good at what they did but they never stood a chance in the 'Best Canadian band with three members and two of them have to have handle-bar moustaches' award!

Maybe I'm in the minority but I like Triumph better than Rush. I like alot of bands better than Rush. Rush is great and all but too progressive for me I guess. I happen to love the sh*t outta "straight forward" Rock n Roll. Its powerful, fun music that gets right to the point. I'm not impressed by music with a million changes and tempos, weird timing, etc. Give me some good time hard rock n roll "Y&T, Priest" rock any day of the week. Besides Geddy Lee's voice annoys the crap outta me.
