We want MOORE!

I know I had posted in the past about how overlooked Michael Schenker is. Another guy comes to mind too. Gary Moore. Phenomenal tone and touch. The guy is fluid smooth. Hey younger dudes do yourself a favor and give him a listen. A couple of my favorite tunes are Parisienne Walkways ( i think i spelled that right) maybe its Parisian Walkways. That one note in the solo that he sustains for like a whole minute is awesome. And of course Still Got The Blues is a crash course in MELODIC SOLOING!

Once again this is judst my opinion. Just trying to get the names out to some who may never have heard of these great players.

still got the blues can put tears in my eyes. i like that he can sing so well. love the man but there is one thing i will never forgive him for. when he played still got the blues on i think it was his "best of the blues" some idiot talked him into cutting the last solo short and fading it out leaving out the best part of the whole song. the whole last solo sums up gary more in my eyes

I know what you mean. That royally peeved me too. To cut a solo that good so short on your like "greatest hits" album was an atrocity. They cut out some of the best parts of the outro solo. Probably the most beuatiful melodic "blues song" i can think of. The tone and the notes he chooses in the solos are as close to perfect as you can get. That tune is the embodiment of everything just coming together. The chords, the melody, the vocals, the tone. Just amazing.

He did some nice twin leads on Thin Lizzy's Black Rose album with Scott Gorham. His solo stuff will blow you away.

Not a big fan of moore here. I think his blues playing more often than not is a bit over the top and not so bluesy.
The one album I really like with him is the BBM album he did with Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce.
He's a good player, but he doesnt do it for me. Don't care much for his usual tone either.
More of a rock ballad player than a blues player.

I love Gary Moore alot. He's so great. How can you expect something less from a Thin Lizzy-member (Skid Row should also be mentioned). I love the melodic tones and his music-composing.

He and Phil Lynott is the perfect combination.
