Judging by the looks of the 5 and 4 star packages, and the ticket prices in general, this is financially motivated.

Ozz Fest tickets cost the same, but you can see around a dozen bands... Pretty pricey if you ask me, but most justified to get the band back on the road for one last big show. None of us are getting any younger! [img]images/smilies/icon16.gif[/img]

Yeah, the money obviously had something to do with it, but I think there's a lot of logical thinking. At the end of the day, they'd be more stable and sellable with Sammy Hagar.

Plus, it's all about the music. They love playing, and know that there will still be an energy there between them.

Just glad that they're conducting themselves in this manner. "Fuck the past, forget what we said. We're going on tour. Come and see us and make your mind up whether we were right in getting back together !"

Sorry guys but I've been in Florida for a couple of weeks, but I couldn't resist jumping in on this one. I believe Sammy had it made without VH. His tour was one that actually rocked and was fun to be at. I think VH needed some cash so the only person that gave them a #1 hit was Sammy. I just don't get Sammy going back to VH after what they did to him? I know Ed is very good, but what have you done for me lately Ed? [img]images/smilies/headscratch.gif[/img]

Well, the music that Ed's writing must be good for a start. After all the fury with Best Of Volume I and Humans Being, I'm guessing that the music must be good. They're gonna have to release this stuff and have it scrutinised and have to play it every night in concert. SO it must be good enough for these guys to like it at least.

Plus, the energy must be there. If they're gonna forget what has been said before, and just jam, then it must be good fun to jam away with each other for 3 months. Otherwise, the cracks would have appeared and it wouldn't have lasted.

So whilst money was always a factor, I truly believe that the music has a big part to play in this. Even if it is only 2 or 3 songs.

i think it was just because ed was feeling better again .

cancer , divorce , long term alcohol addiction ..

having a divorce after how ever many years it was and trying to stay off the bottle when you've been on it since you were 13 ? .. not easy !

i think ed needed time away from touring and pressure of making an album and just chill out for a while he felt he could return with sammy .
