if you think there were a lot of effects on his voice on the album you should have heard him the other night. Fuck me it was a robot hitting the notes for him.I was talking to Doogie White who had heard from a sound tech that has just left the tour that Coverdale was using computrized vocal enhancing equipment on his voice. Like a sampler he sings a note and the computer hits the right note for him . [ QUOTE ]

The album Coverdale did with Page was a piece of shit. He couldn't have any more effects on his voice without it sounding totally ridiculous.

Bloody hell ! That album is a favourite of mine. I think it was some of Page's best work to date. Some of the lyrics left a bit to be desired, but on the whole, I think it was a great piece of work. I never really cared much for Page's tone before, but it was great on this album !

I totally lost interest in them when
Steve Vai joined the band.

I really liked Slip Of The Tongue. To be honest, that's the only album I own by them, so that's probably why I didn't recognise most of the stuff !!!

I think Page played well on the Coverdale/Page album, I just thought there were alot of effects on David's voice, it sounded very processed which I didn't like.
To each his own, musical taste is all a matter of personal taste.
You have to go out and buy the Whitesnake albums with
John Sykes on them. You're missing out. My personal favorite is Slide It In. Sykes has a great edge to his playing and is bluesy.
