"outa' love again" is tops for me.
but on a side note, I could never get used to "mean street" when it was released because I had already been listening to its very early boot version for years called "voodo queen". When i first heard the "mean street" version it totally sounded canned and without any of its former energy. -anybody feel the same way? [img]images/smilies/jot.gif[/img]
p.s. there is not a day that goes by where that riff from "mean streat" is not repeating over and over in my brain (the "voodo queen" version of course). still adore it! [img]images/smilies/rock.gif[/img]

OMG, I've never seen so many people citing Mean Street (without an "s"!) as their favourite (with a "u") song. I knew the people on this forum had exquisite taste.
That's my #1 choice too. When I first got into Van Halen, I used to live in the kind of neighbourhood where one has to watch one's back. It was a cold winter, and I used to have that song blaring through my headphones as I walked the city streets. Hmmm...thinking about it now, anyone could've crept up behind me and I wouldn't have heard them, lol.
I guess a higher power must've been looking out for me - after all, isn't the 11th Commandment : "Thou shalt rock?" I'm pretty sure of it... |
