I love all his solos... I can't say the same for the songs though... Dancing in the Street?

Re: Your least fav. eddie solo
Dancing in the Streets is the only Van Halen song, that when it comes on the radio, I switch it. That song had Dave and Ted Templeman written all over it. As for solos, it's all good. I really haven't heard one that turned me off.

Re: Your least fav. eddie solo
I can't think of one of his solo's I dont like. The one on Spanked is kinda weak, but so is that song in general.

Re: Your least fav. eddie solo
Stiglar is so true!
The RHRN version of FWYS is a killer.
Eddie is a rare player who has always believed in the maxim of "if it sounds good then its is good" While many of his solo's are regarded now as classics, there are some that people will always rate below the others. Let me sum this thread up by saying this...
Even Michaelangelo painted a dud from time to time. It is the enduring legacy of the majority of his work that he is judged a master of his craft. This goes for EVH!
Cheers all

Re: Your least fav. eddie solo
I dont like the solos on the new songs as much as all the others. It seems to me like he just plastered something together to get it out. A little more thought next time Ed,,,the Van Halen name deserves better...

Re: Your least fav. eddie solo
The one i dislike the most would be one of the new songs. I think it was 'up for breakfast'. Not sure though. It sounded like Ed was trying to impersonate Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman from slayer

Re: Your least fav. eddie solo
It was learning to see. I just listened to it again for the second time ever. It's not as slayer like as i remembered, but it still sounds a bit like the squeeling guitars at the end of ' raining blood'.

I find the solo to the song "Good Enough" to be unbearably generic, but then again i hate that song in general. Also, I found the solos in "source of infection" to be kind of a let down, only because of fact that he used pretty much the same licks in the same manner that he used in "i'm the one". I think so much more could have been done with that song.
