Knocking on Heaven's Door

Heya Guys, would anyone care to collaborate with me on the G'N'R version of Knocking on Heaven's Door? I have laid down all rhythm guitar tracks against a great sounding backing. Just need someone to sing on it and someone for the lead guitar (could be one in the same, up to ya'll). I did this all by myself before but wasn't happy with the vocals and I would like to see how someone else approaches the lead on this.

I'm posting the track, I think it was recorded very cleanly at 24/96, then sent to mp3 at 16 bit. I would love to hear how this turns out.

excellent, dude! you gonna take a whack at the vocals too or you have someone else in mind...doesn;t have to be sung just like axl you know, i didn't do the acoustic part the same way you hear it on the cd.

Ok, bit rough round the edges but I put my Slash wig and Ritchie Sambora cowboy hat on and held a lighter up as I played the solo.I also sank about 4 JD's and a coupla beers to get me in the mood. It ranges from Zakk to Slash to George Harrison to Stevie Gaines![img]images/smilies/icon_lol.gif[/img] Should I send you a rough copy mp3? Ok...it's around 12.30am here and I'm f.u.c.t. What I'm gonna do is upload the thing here and then you can decide whether I send you the guitar by itself or whether just to adjust the levels etc. It's a bit rough...so was the beer! [img]images/smilies/icon_lol.gif[/img]

Nice tone on the guitar, wah. I'm gonna need the raw track though, your playing is way too loud and overpowers the song, so i'll need to adjust levels. I really like the part before and during the syncopation. Don;t think you need to change anything, that's up to you. You could get some of the others to voice an opinion if you want reinforcement. I likes

Ok, whew! Wife hates me for spending no time with her tonight. Anyway, what I did was completely synch up the mp3 i sent you with the one you sent back...had to be exact, fucking painstaking, then I eq'd, tweaked, and made the mix sound as sweet as I could. You tell me, bud, I think it sounds pretty fucking good and is ripe for the vocals. See attached...

Guys, please feel free to comment on this. I mixed through headphones (late) so if you think this needs serious surgery your input is appreciated. I'm thinking maybe a mid-boost but I dunno.
