Lets try something big !

Listening to the latest collaborations i've been blown away at some of the talent here and i thought it might be time we think about doing another big group song ? ...

obviously it'll take a bit of planning and it's still in early days .. but what do you say ? .. i'd love to do a nice typical blues just to keep everyone in their comfort zones and have some fun !

Give me 5 seconds worth, volume turned down, through the left channel whilst someone else covers for me through the right...

No, I'd be up for a crack at it, sure. You are right, there's been some killer collaborations on here recently. I am still playing catch up but going at every one...

I'd rather sit out and let some other guys do their thing...I'd play on it at the drop of a hat but the only way we'll get more talent thru is to give 'em some space.

Re: Lets try something big !

*Raises Hand* I'd be glad to enter some stuff if this ever gets going. I am doing one on another forum and it hasnt really got off the ground. I think this because :

1) The basic backing track of percussion and chords was crap, and not to many peoples taste.
2) It had starange timing
3) Constant key changes to minors etc.... made it hard to solo to.

Just a few tips!

Re: Lets try something big !

thanks towlie .. and your right you really can't over complicate these things otherwise they sound messy

At the moment i'm looking for some cool blues tracks .. i'd really just like a simple shuffle kinda groove that's quite sparse so people can really come trhough on .

of course if someone comes up with another backing that'd be cool .. we're definately open for suggestions i don't mind what kinda style it is

Re: Lets try something big !

Well i cant be recording much at the moment (i rolled over my mic with my wheelie chair lol) so i just usggest for and intro A and D major chords, with maybe some arpeggio over the top. Then for the verses E, A, C, G then D. The E A and C for a full bar/2 bars each, then the G and D take up half/one bar each, giving a total of 8/4 bars. For the chorus....lemmie sleep on it!

Re: Lets try something big !

Ok,,, here is a killer 6 minute backing for us all to use.. I really want to help out and hopefully ,, you all will like this backing.. It seems long enough for us all who wanna jam on it.. I figure 6 minutes is long also for any who wanna join in. I also wanna add a tad of guitar,, but until we see who all like this backing,, then we go from there. Well,, here it is,, a real cool blues shuffle backing.. Give me your thoughts all......

i love that backing ! .. that's exactly what i was hoping for !

the only problem is have you got it in better quality ? if we're going to be passing this aroudn to heaps of people it'll get quite degraded ..

awesome backing though man .. i love this kinda blues

What we did last time was send our individual tracks to VHFanOU812 who pieced everything together over the master track. We broke up everything in time segments based on the changes in the song. It worked very well
