Singers on Gtr101 please make yourself known
There is a truckload of music that we cover here on 101 and it would be so helpful to know who amongst the membership is a keen singer and importantly, willing to receive submissions by mail and grace them with vocals.
When I have a completed tune I try my best to match said tune to a particular singer who`s singing style i feel is best matched. Singers that I am aware of include
Geordie
Figs
JPF
Van Man
Is there anybody else out there who sings and would be willing to accept tunes , please let me know within the confines of this thread.
Thanks
BD

Ah hem, well. Not quite sure how to answer this. I used to sing in a few bands in my youth back in the NE and i'd like to try my hand (even though my vocs are shot fdrom screaming at the kids ). BUT.. I have never recorded my voice at home and don't know what i need to lay down vocals. Obviously i need a mike (anything special?).
Any advice on getting started appreciated.

I am not a singer - I like to call myself a "vocal stylist" - I don't really like my voice but do enjoy giving tunes a whirl. Most of the originals I've posted are with my vocals - recently I've added vocals to a few KISS tunes (hardcorehutchins did the music). I think it's helping me get better at singing - so anything not extremely high I wouldn't mind giving a whirl. Who knows; maybe someday I'll become a singer.
Plus any original collaborations I'd be into at about any degree or level. I just like creating music. Thanks...

Here's a couple links to threads right here on G101.
Personally I use a stand alone recording unit - Fostex VF80 - I like it because it operates like a typical 4-track recorder. I use Audacity to record from the VF80 to the computer. All effects are built into the VF80 as well as being able to add some via Audacity as well (primarily I use it for fade-ins or fade-outs). I haven't tried to record directly to Audacity from my guitar or a mic as of yet but don't see why it can't happen as long as you have a sound card with a mic input. Same goes for Kristal. Trial & error. This would be the least expensive & least painfull - if you're married -
Oh, BTW, to post you'll need to convert from wav to mp3
all kinds of free software out there -

if it's free it's for me

Yes, Geordie's suggestions are to be added to the list. There has been some awesome singing contributions by these fine people in the past.

I have to nominate Mrs. Supercharged 350 as well for vocal duties. She's always up for some singing.
