Re: Surfing Jam final listOk guys,, here is my part ... I recorded my guitar over the entire backing track.. I left off where Stiglar should start. Best bet is for all of us to use this track and,,,one by one,, grab it and add our parts individually to it right down the line,, like Stiglar should get this and add his stuff right where I left off,, then repost it up,, and so forth down the line so the timing won't get messed up and all. just an idea to make it a smooth collab. hope yas like what I did. i tried to nail his nasually tone that's originally on the surfing album.

Re: Surfing Jam final listmy part was sent allready the day when this jam started . i hope its the same backing , but i think u should only post your solo without the backing bc its easier to work with sound and volume levels for rockonthis.
just my 2 cents |

Re: Surfing Jam final listYou have to set up your sound card to only record the line input- if you have cool edit pro-THANKS PETER!!! that works well for playing back one track and recording on another. If you don't have software like that, you can use windows recorder- it will only save as a wave and then you have to convert it or send/post a giant file. The important thing is to make sure that only the input from your vamp is the signal that the sound card wants to record.

Re: Surfing Jam final listno- I can patch it in the way it is....I was just helping you to understand how to record just the guitar. And it would be the preferred method for the future because it is easier to produce and edit if you record and post just the guitar.

Re: Surfing Jam final list[ QUOTE ]
Scott Parnell said: how do i go about recording just the guitar? i'm so used to doing my guitar qith the backing hmmmmmm never recorded that way. [/ QUOTE ] the easiest way (with cool edit pro) is to go to multitrack view, import the backing track, record your guitar part, mute the backing track (or just delete it) then mixdown. |

Re: Surfing Jam final listCakewalk is even easier...record the thing and then just mute the channel for the backing track and let the solo play by itself while you record it.

Re: Surfing Jam final listHey scott, I am going to need your part re-recorded. For some reason, the length of the backing changed when you recorded, and I can't fit the others to it. I think I amy have found another reason for dificulty putting things together. This goes for everyone. We need to pick a standard bit rate to use. Cool edit changes total play times and tempos but a little bit when you change bit rates-

Re: Surfing Jam final listmaybe 128 should be the standard, or 96? maybe somebody else can do some testing with this also. right now I have 3 different pieces all at different bit rates. Wah's and dutch's still fit, and I am trying to use the stretch effect to fit yours scott, but it is proving to be difficult

Re: Surfing Jam final listScott, if you don't want to record again I found a fix that works- I am just going to stretch yours so the tempo fits and cut the beginning from the BT and paste your beginning in its place.....
