Adobe Audition Question

Does anyone know if this program is any good for creating music (i.e. can I cut/paste/loop sections of music easily, pan, and all that other god stuff). Some guy is offering me his copy of it for $30.00 and I'm wondering if its better than what I'm already using (Guitar Tracks 2).

Thx!

I use it all the time....and from what I know of GT...it's a LOT better. It's well worth $30.....costs around $300 new.

It does everything you need and then some.

I just bought a new puter. My old one has Cool Edit Pro (what Abode Audition used to be). I like it so much I'm going to pop for Adobe. You shouldn't be dissappointed.

Poor old Pete, he had the misfortune to let his username and serial number loose and now there are 1000's of people using cool edit for free. A google search will probably reveal all. He is infamous.

Anyone find the "peter quistgard" on soundclick? - http://www.soundclick.com/bands/3/pe...gard_music.htm - almost funny

Thx for the replies!

Ok, so I decided to pick it up, and now I have a few questions. Could any knowledgeable person please answer these questions?

#1 How do I save my sessions so that I can come back to later? Everytime I save, the software asks me if I want to save each and ever track I've laid down. I find this both frustrating and dumb (no you stupid computer, I only want to save half of what I just spent 2 hours on). Anyways, is there a way to expedite the saving process?

#2 Is there a "Record" hotkey?
-I really hate having to hit the mouse button over the "record" icon, can't I just press "R" on the keyboard or something?

#3 "Undo"
-Why is it that I can undo some stuff, (i.e. moving a block) but I can't undo other, more useful, stuff (i.e. a bad recording take)? Is there an easy way to undo recordings other than selecting the block and deleting it?

#4 Real Time Effects-Does this mean that these effects will modulate my signal as I record, I can I only apply them after I've recorded. If the former, how?

#5 Deleting Blocks
-Why is that sometimes when I delete one block, another, non-selected, block gets deleted as well?

#6 Mysterious Track Jumping-Why is it than when I send a block into the "Multitrack View" from the "Edit" view, the block will sometimes appear on more than 1 track?

#7 @#@#(*!! Effects-When I am in the "Multitrack View" and I apply fx to a track, and I later find that I don't like the fx, how do I remove said fx??

Thanks!!!

iirc alt and K pull up the shortcut keys menu - if it isn't there you can creater one.

if it is anything like cubase it is as follows. real time effects like compression can be recorded by inserting the effect on the input channel (not the track). If you apply effects to the track, you will still have the original dry mix. I hope that helps a little.
