Audigy Sound Card

Does anyone else here use the Audigy for 24 bit recording? I am going to upgrade my little stock SB Live card to something more beefy and this looks pretty good.

Yeah. Can't say I've noticed any bells and whistles. I reckon its the speakers that count. Mines a 5 way system and I've had it about 2 years.

Re: Audigy Sound Card

I think the main benefit is moving to 24 bit, I imagine the quality is much better.

Re: Audigy Sound Card

Not sure what you are paying for it.....but if $150 is in the budget I suggest a tascam US-122. (Soundcard/preamp in one)

Re: Audigy Sound Card

It wasn't that much, from what I have read you don't really need a preamp with the pod. The difference between this and my old SB Live is like day and night, this card is great

Re: Audigy Sound Card

Very true, you do not need a preamp with a POD, but one will cut down on unwanted noise and hiss. Also not sure if your POD has XLR outputs, but if so a preamp would be nice for those.

Re: Audigy Sound Card

One thing I have noticed is that moving away from my monitor when playing reduces buzz but I didn't realize a preamp would help also, good to know.

Re: Audigy Sound Card

This is interesting. I might have to invest in a new card...

I have the Sounblaster Live 1024 + one. I need to update the graphics card as well, so I might as well do the two together...
