I have just used a couple of your drum loops as backing for a demo of a pod sound for Cream on the amps and moddeling board! I used the straight beats and a fill. I have just downloaded the rock beats and look forward to playing with them.
Hey GT. your last line has kind of thrown me - these are just generic drum loops I bought - I didn't record them I don't use loops anymore myself. I use midi and output through a VSTi called BFD.

Ahhh, That is probably why we cannot get a good clean sound from miking up a drumkit. Anyway, the drum loops are useful as a steady background beat.
how many mics are you using? Close miking is probably the best way to get definition but for a strong live sound use 2 overheads 1-1.5 metres from the kit (probably best to keep them high up (1.5 metres) and this will give you a strong live feel. If you are loosing the bass and/or snare then additionally close mic them. this should get a reasonable live drum sound using 4 mics. you will also need a recorder/soundcard capable of multiple channels if you wish to mix levels after recording.
Good luck

We have tried close miking using a mic for snare and high hat, one for bass, one for toms, one for floor tom and one for both cymbals. We use a mixer, as I have a Fostex 8 track hdd recorder with 2 inputs. The sound is always muddy.
I will try to mic it live with additional close mics if required and see how it goes.

Don't know if this is a good idea or not but I know a lot of you guys use loops for your jam tracks and I thought it would be handy to upload a few here. If you have some more you want to upload then even better
These are some straight rock beats - dry with no fx and @ 100bpm. All acidized and all recorded on the same kit. you can adjust the tempo but quality degrades once you start being silly
Did you make these loops. I play both guitar and drums and I love the sound on this kit, real straight up fat drum sounds I am new at recording and I think I will use these loops to Jam to or maybe even to make a demo. Thanks alot and great job!
If Anyone would guitar loops, drum loops, keyboards or effect loops "must" go on "looperman" You must registered but you don't pay anything to download.
