Guitar Rig in Adobe Audition 1.5

I'm fairly new to the recording world and recently purchased Adobe Audition 1.5 and Guitar Rig. I've been playing with Guitar Rig stand-alone for a while now and have been recording using it's dumb device and manually puttin it in audition. Though it may work it is how you say... a pain in the face, so I would deeply appreciate if anyone could help me or at least steer me in the right direction.

Oh BTW, I've figured out how to use VST plugins in audition and all it did was let me add effects to what was input from the guitar itself... and it sounded like poo.
