need help setting up my studio

ok... so im done building on building my modest bedroom studio and i have spent ALOT of time learning about it... but i have one last question that i need answered...

here is my gear:
*DAW with 1 GB of ram and 2.19GHz processor
*crate half stack guitar amp
*Alesis M1 active usb monitors (and bear with me here... these are also my audio interface)
*a couple of different mics
*behringer compressor
*behringer noise gate
*nady 31 band EQ
*hartke combo bass amp
*behringer XENYX802 mixer
*a keyboard
*and a behringer v amp pro (which i REALLY dont plan on having much longer)

so heres my question... should i use my outboard gear(compressor, gate, EQ, multi FX) in my guitar chain like this: guitar -> outboard gear -> amp -> mic -> mixer ->interface/monitors?

or guitar -> amp -> mic -> mixer -> outboard gear -> interface/monitors?

i think that the latter seems to be the reasonable choice because all of my mixer channels would go into the signal processing gear instead of me having to unhook every thing every time i wanna record a different instrument...
im not a hundred percent sure though which i should do which is why im looking to the all powerful engineers for their input
