need your opinion. I got both recording programs Pro Tools and Cakewalk Sonar XL. which one is better to use for recording and mixing. and how do i use it?? i absolutely do not know anything bout home recording. what i previously did was only mic my amp and record using a wave editor.
Thats a tough one. The only person who could answer it would be someone who has used bothI have Sonar but once I'd installed it, I didn't like the layout of it and so I stuck with Cakewalk 9.0 and it works a treat. I've always got on with Cakewalk but I know that Pro Tools is a very good program...Cakewalk always had a good tutorial program on the cd's that came with it. There's prolly some good instructional stuff at the website also...sorry I can't help
Pro tools works great with MACS...seems to be the choice for MAC users....Cakewalk products (Sonar), mainly used by Windows users....Matter of preference...
Well. According to my most sound engineering type of guys, Protools is the #1 way to go right now. I never tried it. But its supposted to be the industry standard, along with the digi002 that comes with it.
Protools most likely has a lot more plug-ins and power....but it might be overkill for what you are doing. Sonar should be simple fast and easier to learn. I have used them both but I stick to Cool Edit Pro becasue I am used to it, it does what I need, and I am too lazy to learn anything new.
