Problems Recording at 24 Bit

Guys I need some help here. I just picked up my M-Audio Firewire 410. I alternate between using Cakewalk Guitar Tracks Pro and Cubase SX (I know, night and day). The problem is I cannot seem to set the cakewalk product to 24 bit. It should be able to since that's the whole reason I went with a firewire product (no latency, hightest recording sample rate). I prefer to use GTP over Cuase SX because most of the time Cubase is overkill. When I try to switch to 24 bit it says my hardware won;t support it. WTF is that, of course it supports 24/96. Anyone have any help they can offer on this?
