I just started using http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ I know how to remove the vocals but, is there a way to remove the guitar tracks?

It can't? Huh, that's weird. What does This do then?

It can't be done perfectly, but it CAN be done.
There's also a way to do it without a Phrase Trainer if you have some sort of DAW software. Assuming you can play the part reasonably well and can get pretty close to the original tone, record your track playing along with the original. Once you have a good reproduction, bounce the original stereo version to a mono track. Reverse the phase of your version, then put it on top of the original. Again, not flawless, but not impossible either.

I didnt know about this gadget and if it works great but I thought it was about removing the guitar sound out of a stereo mix. Of course you can play with phase but it really depends on where the guitar is in the mix. Sounds like a good piece of kit though.

The phase trick is the way to get it out of a stereo track. That's why you have to bounce it to a mono track. If you try to reverse phase on a stereo track, you'll only reverse one of the channels.

There is one other way that I know is effective, but it involves a painfully slow, complicated process.

Okay, I have the same problem, and i've tried a few painfully slow things of my own including filtering away frequencies, inversing channels, you name it.. I know it can be done and out of curiosity i'd like to hear your version, if you can be othered to explain.
