Creating backings from midis is fun but there are lots of tunes that you just can't find midis for. It would be great if someone did a tutorial on drum programming. That way, any backing would be possible
I'm in the beginning stages of this. I hope to have something in a couple of weeks with examples, etc.
The most difficult part of this will be targeting one specific sequencer. Everyone uses something different, so I'll be trying to make it as generic as possible, but will probably feature Cubase SX since that's what I'm using these days.
If anyone has any input on what to include I'd love to hear it.
Dr-008.Many people use this program(myself as an example). You can get some great real sounding kits for it by downloading but many people cant arrange them in a good enough order to sound natural.Sometimes the drums stand out by seeming to unbelievable.
The main problem with musicians using drum machines, is that many of them don't play drums... and don't realize the human limits of only being able to play certain things at a time with two hands and two feet. (for example: continuous high-hat during tom fills and cymbal crashes). I always play my drum programming for "real" drummers to get their approval. If you can convince a drummer it's good, it's good.
