Synthfont Help

I just installed Synthfont on my PC and I can't get the midi files I extract form Guitar Pro to produce sound from this program. I am not having a problem with the midi playing on GP, but nothing from Synthfont.

Any suggestions on where to look to remedy would be appreciated. I don't have any soundfonts on my PC yet..I am just using a default setting.

You must have a default soundfont set up in order for this to work. Go to hammersound.net and download a GM soundfont and set that as the default file. That will get you started. Then all you have to do is find suitable soundfonts and replace them one at a time.

I downloaded two of the GM soundfonts from there that I like. One goes under the name A340, the other is FluidR3. Each has their strengths, I often use a combination of both. The drumkits section on Fluid is decent...
