I use these in conjunction with
Fruity Loops 4 .. teh new version has sound font support.
I use Frity as a DXI plugin for Sonar 3, i program all my drums using the piano roll in sonar. Sonar triggers the drums in fruity and then i record them. Its the PERFECT setup. basically im using frity as a sound module. If you DONT have a program like cakewalk. you can use fruity as a standalone to make loops and then im port them into your project as WAV files. The other option is fruity 4 comes with a VST adapter for integration in Cubase, Pro Tools, and any program that supports VST. If you dont wanna BUY fruity theri are other free soundfont players out there. I think Vsampler 3 is one. Do a search on google, and youll have killer LOOPS and sounds in no time.
Any cakewalk program will work with ANY DXI plugin, so find a DXI soundfont player and import your midi files. Then load the soundfonts you want on each channel and BOOM, you converted MIDI sounds in to real instrument sounds. If you guys want ill Post a FULL tutorial using Fruity and Cakewalk. Jusy gimme the word and ill make a tut for it.
