POD XT

This may not be of much help as it equates into a boxing match that ends in a draw, but I have both the V-amp2 and the POD XT and each has it's won strengths. I find the POD to be warmer, have more accurate reproduction of the original tones it tries to emulate and is a truly most like an amp. To counter, I also think the v-amp has some very nice original tones...not quite like the originals, but very, very good. I especially prefer the reverbs and delays on the V-amp2. I purchaced the POD XT thinking it would absolutly wipe-away the v-amp2...not so...now I am keeping both!!! Either way, your a winner with each!! good luck on YOUR tone quest!!!

I tooled with the V-AMP2 and, although I prefered the POD, I don't think a guitarist could really go wrong with either purchase depending on if all he wants it an easy way to get good (subjective) guitar sound into his PC. I do like the option of recording via USB that the PODxt offers but that point has become moot since I record through my FireWire 410.
