Re: Atomic Amp / PODxt 2.0 Sound Clips...
I have a few questions about the atomic reactor I would like to ask you. As I am looking for a proper amplification method for my GT-6. I love the direct sound of the GT-6 and was looking at a Roland KC-550, I actually tried this amp out and this setup was the most accurate and a good choice for me, but there's always the "what if" so I want to be sure. What I am looking for is an amplifier that doesn't color the tone, I find my tube amp to be too coloring, and I've checked some active monitors (very cool), Tech 21 Power Engine and some keyboard amps, then I read about the atomic amp a while ago and by what they promise I think that would be a kickass setup.
Does the atomic color your sound in any way? How do the speaker simulators of your preamp run on the atomic? Can it handle rehearsals volume wise?
Basically what I want is a device that reproduces faithfully the sounds I hear when I record direct, the amp would be used for rehearsals, and for gigs I would mike it or run straight to the P.A. and use it as a monitor. If the atomic can deliver such goods and then some, I think I will have found the winner, the size and weight is a big plus as the Roland KC-550 is a little bulky. I really want to make a smart decision here.
