best headphones for PODxt?

hey everyone

I'm interested in buying quality headphones for my POD.
By quality i mean in the range of 100 bucks.
I also know that not all "quality headphones", specifically
good for the POD purposses.
What i mean is, there are headphones for DJ's, monitors, studio....

So what i look for in headphones is- good sound and comfort.
And nothing else matters..

I use the Sony MDR V150. Nice fit, comfortable, and they sound great, not too expensive either.

Thumbs down

All I'd advise is getting ones with a long lead. The ones I use don't have much of a lead on them and I have to sit pretty close to the P.C. and the POD. I get uncomfortable if recording for a while and also, using some tones, my pickups pick up interference from the monitor due to me being so close.

I know that if I had a longer lead, then I'd be more comfortable recording, and could also limit that buzz that my pickups pick up.

I have no idea as to what is the best sound wise though...

that's a good advice.

I went ahead and bought headphones 10 min ago on Ebay.

AKG K240S.

The cable lenght is standard in pro headphones which is 3 Meters.
I talked with someone who works in the buisness. that was his first pick.

Good choice. My Sony headphones work well for me and have a 10 foot lead.

I got a set of Sennheiser 212D's on ebay for 60$, great set of cans. I use them for guitar and computer and they work great. Sennheiser is the best when it comes to headphones.

I'm still using the AKG K242 I bought with my allowance money back in 1978.
I saved for months to get them, but it was obviously a sound investment.
The best thing I've ever listen to...

i know that back in the 70's, AKG ruled the headphones scene.
Today, there are so many good brands to choose from.

but i do believe, that unlike in the 'guitar-amp' area, headphones got
better over the years.

What's the difference between the AKG K240S (studio) and AKG K240M (Monitor Studio)?

headphones

I have the Bose Triports. They are expensive ($150), but man they are awesome, crisp and great bass response. Very comfortable and lightweight. It also doesn't take much power to drive them either. One day at practice I hooked up my drummer's AKG's (the real good ones) and it was like night and day. Hands down, get the Bose Triports, you WONT be dissappointed. However, if you are looking for flat frequency response used for recording and monitoring then get the AKG's. But for the POD XT, the Bose headphones are the best I've heard.

The ONLY way to go in headphones is Zennheiser...

My other option was Sennheiser HD280.
But for my specific needs (podxt), the AKG were better.
