Can Someone please answer this....

was wondering if any one knew how the cab tuning on a Digitech GNX 3relates to speaker resonance...For Example if a speakers resonance is 104.0Hz what would the tuning end up being..Would you tune the resonance down( -) up up (+ )...For example the Eminence Black Powder has a resonance of 72Hz with a frequency Range of 70Hz-5kHz...How would this equal out on the tuning...For frequency range I've just been adjusting the EQ to match thier freq range..But I'm not sure about the resonance.....If any one can help me out with this that would be great and probably help alot of other people too....

It's supposed to simulate a tuned cab, but I think it sounds kinda cheesy. Best bet is to experiment until you can understand what it does and to get the tone you like from it. Good luck!

It's true it sim the cab sound...But the cab gets it's sound from the resonance of the speaker. If the resonance is set to where the speaker puts out more bass naturally,or mids thats how the cab will sound..I only know because I did alot of research on speakers and guitar cabs before I posted the question.Certain amps have ALOT of bass to them thats because of the resonanse of the speaker some have a more middy sound Like a fender for the same reason..You can take a speaker from a fender amp and put it in a different cab the sound doesn't really change. The only way you'll really change the sound really is to change the amp you're using..That's not what I'm looking to do tho..If I can figure out how the tuning relates to the resonance I can design the cabs for virtually any amp...Then I would just need to find various amp samples to tune in the amp to an almost perfect match....

Here's an example of what I mean I just copied this from the dr.z amp cab's page......................
Let's face it, your rig will never sound better than your speakers, so why compromise? Check out our Thiele ported 2x12 cabinets. These cabinets are tuned to 30 hertz for controlled resonance in the bottom end. Our 1x12 cabinets are available either open backed or rear ported. Cabinets are available with your choice of grillcloth, and are made of Birch Ply. Speakers are a choice of Celestion Speakers. For more information on the types of Celestion speakers available, contact us for the latest offerings.

Hmmm, that's not my experience... I think.
The cabinet plays a HUGE part in how the speakers sound to us. Whether it's open or closed back, the actual dimensions, proportions... The very same speaker in one enclosure can sound very differently in another enclosure. The resonance depends on the cabinet enclosure, not just the speaker...
