Digitech GNX1
I ended up going into guitar center today and buying their demo procerssor today cheap for 99 bucks. this pedal looks cool. trying to figure it out. didn't come with a manual,, so I went onto digitech's website for a manual. ,, now all I have to do is try and figure out how to do all the warping and cab changes and amp changes and all now lol. cool processor indeed!

Hey mate
i have the GNX1 also
very cool especially if you can hook it up to your computer. Makes life very much easier to do all you setup of effects and amp / cab warping etc. Use a USB 2 midi connector instead of trying to your joystick port. Lots of hassle getting the joystick port to work but very easy with USB.
have fun
cheers

I am new to this forum. Saw your post about the GNX1. I have a GNX3. Digitech has a Sound Community that has a wealth of information. If you have the USB or midi cable there are lots of very cool patches that you can download and you can also get the GenEdit software there.
Also worth mentioning, there is this guy that goes by the handle guitar3456 that is creating some awesome patches. He is taking the modeling/warping function of the GNX's to a whole new level. He explains the process on several threads. They are mostly on the GNX 3 and 4 pages.
Check it out!

Chris,
A lot of them are already converted for use on the GNX1. However, If they are not, there is free software on the Sound Community available to convert the patches. Almost all of the patches that I use came from there. Sometimes you just have to tweek them to your personal taste. With the GenEdit software, it makes it really easy to make adjustments because it displays the effects and stuff with knobs just like a stomp box. If you can't find something on the site, most everyone that participates is very helpful.
If you get the cable, another thing you may try is on Digitech's site for guitar world and Guitar one. When they transcribe songs for the magazines, they create a patch for the song. Some are good others are so-so. But what the hell, it's free.
Let me know how it works out.

Thanx for that schaf
i just had a look at the gnx2 stuff. Looks like there is about an extra 300 or so patches. Would be good to know which ones overlap somehow with having to check each one. I notice the majority of the ones on the first page are the same without scrolling down. Just take some time tog o through them i guess. I have just got my USB MIDI connector so am just starting to learn the wonder that is GENEDIT.
I went to check out the guitar world and guitar one patches on the digitech site but they are not there. Any ideas where i should be looking ???
Cheers
Chris

Scott,
Once you put the GenEdit software on your PC, just hook up the USB cable to your computer and the midi cable to your unit. Actually, I have the joystick type cable but it's the same difference. In most cases the computer and software will locate the device (effects unit). If you can't get it to recognize it, you may have to change the settings on your sound card. There are instructions in the FAQ section on the Digitech website. As for the patches from Guitar world and Guitar One, on Digitechs home page there is a box about halfway down and to the left. Just click on the logo for which ever one you want to go to.
Another good resource is this website, http://www.mtprosound.com/. Just click on links. Alot is about the GNX4 but most everything applies to the GNX1 as well. Dude, once you get the midi thing going you have to check out this guys patches. They are the best I've heard so far. I'm into the classic VH type sound and he developed an awesome patch called VH Plexi. Check it out.

It doesnt take long to learn it. I have a GNX3 and I thought I would never figure the thing out, but it only took me an hour or 2 to get use to it, and a week to completely know my way around it. But yours is a GNX1 so it wont be as hard. Have fun and good luck getting sleep. The GNX is addicting.
