gnx4

I was thinking about buying the gnx4 but was wondering can you record right into this thing or does it all have to be set up through the computer. Any help would be appreciated. Im an idiot when it comes to these things.

Re: gnx4

I donut get the point of having a recorder in the footpedal. For the money you'll spend on this why not just get one of the better amp modellers/DI recording devices like the pods or v-amps and buy some decent software for your PC to record with. I used to own a RP-1 and a friend has a newer RP and they donut come close to sounding as good as either pod or v-amp.

I think it is a great tool!
If you are jamming and coming up with a great idea you can just hit record and capture the moment!

Re: gnx4

I just bought a GNX4 last week. The thing sounds great... I think I can get better sounds out of it than my POD. The cabinet warping feature lets you morph 2 different amp sounds together.

I think the default presets suck but play around with some of the patches you download from the guitar mag sites.

The thing has an 8 track recorder, drum machine, and you can play your MP3 backing tracks on it also.

I frickin love the GNX4.

I am with SSS and Dorian. I am also an owner of the GNX4. I am attempting to be completely bias here. The GNX absolutely rocks. No you do not have to connected to the PC to record. You can record onboard to a CF card (previously a Smart Card) and hold huge amounts of data (such as backing tracks from this site). SixStringSlinger and myself are promoting this site at DigiTech.

Let it be known for you POD guy's (and gal's), the POD XT Live has been leaked out on the Net before Line 6 has expected. This is pretty close to a proximity of the GNX4. It is a floorboard, etc. I, however, do not think it has the capabilities of the GNX4 from the reports, but hey! You let us know. Anyway, here is the 'unofficial' link you may be looking for...
