Good EQ Settings

I need some good amp settings. I have a Behringer GMX110, and I need some good EQ settings I just can't get the right tone that I want . I also have a Danalectro PB&J EQ Pedal if you know any good settings for it besides the ones on the box I'd like those too.

I think why no one has answered you is that EQ settings are so subjective. I could come over to your place and dial in a setting that I thought was great, but you might not like at all. Like everything else, it just takes a lot of time sitting and twiddling the knobs. Also you say you need some "good EQ settings", but for what kind of sound, metal, 80's rock, blues?

I usually play just a mixture you know just whatever I'm fealing at the time, usually punk, metal, and blues every once and a while.I don't reallky like that chunky scooped out mids sound. I like it sharper with more trebley bite to it. I can get pretty close to what i want with my wah an overdrive and an eq. My wah does most of the work though and i don't like leaving on all the time because it eats batteries like a bitch. And I only have acces to an overdrive when i'm playing w/ MattM or somebody else.

Like rhythameen said , it's pretty hard for other people to know hwat sound you want .

the thing i noticed after i've bought some of my amps is that no magic setting someone gives you will sound great . i spent agesss gfoing around this board and searching the net for settings for my 5150 and the ones i found just wenr' waht i was looking for . as annoying as this answer is it's just up to you to mess around with the settings till you get something you want . i only got the tone i wanted after i mastered how to use the settings of the amp.

try with every amp setting you get , fiddling with the tone and volume controls on your guitar . may be trial and error at first but after a while you get almost like a 6th sense or well i spose an extension of your hearing sense that tells you what to fiddle with to get your sound that you want .

I've done a lot of fiddling with EQ settings, and here's what I've found. The EQ seems to make the most difference if you put it right after the guitar in the signal chain. Most of my favorite artists' tones (VH, Scholz, May, Rhoads) involved a hefty amount of EQ before the distortion stage. It's usually some sort of midrange boost. There are good articles on EQ on a site called amptone.com.
