Re: guitar port

You need your computer running. It's just a soundcard with a fancy design, and software. Software version 2.0 is basically supposed to be a Pod XT with some models off. Software version 1.14 is Unique.

Re: guitar port

:::crackin' knuckles:::
OK, I've had the GP for several months now & I can safely say that i'm using it a good 90% of the time in place of my amp with headphones. You can download backing tracks off the Guitar Port site (yes, monthly fee's apply) & these are excelent tracks, in fact, I've perfected a very Van Halenesque version of Eric Claptons "Crossroads" useing a GP backing track. You can also d/l lessons and tons of other crap.
As far as the tones go, this is really where the Guitar Port "experience" happens.. allow me to explain (like i wasnt going to anyway?);
Imagine having literally EVERY amp you've ever wanted at your finger tips. Now, imagine you could hook up, in any sequence, any effects unit you want.. INCLUDING an ECHO PLEX!...
Now imagine all this, in stereo, as loud as you want, & NO ONE can hear this except YOU!
We're talking being able to jam with TOP QUALITY backing tracks, many with the same people who recorded the originals.
Now, You can dial in THOUSANDS of tones, incuding a pretty kick ass accustic sim, but I tend to run using slightly beefed up amps with 4x12 cabs & use my own peddles for sound. But, again, you can really get some amazing tones using the onboard stomps as well.
GET ONE! I cant recomend this enough

Re: guitar port

This is also yet another reason to go with a podxt, if one is still debating, because it works with the guitar port software too. Kill two birds with one stone.

Re: guitar port

as said before guitar port is good for practicing and recording ideas (not for a finall mix though). I was able to get some real good tones from it. Worth the money it costs
