Guitar Rig 2 Presets
Have any of you made some nice ones that aren't all glam like most that are included in GR2? Ive made a few that sound pretty good, but Im looking for more.

I bought GR1 and loved it, when GR2 was released, i bought it sight unseen. Ive used amplitube with good success, but GR2 is just more versitile. I havnt bought Amplitube 2, but am seriously considering it, and the Stomp IO. Bang for the buck I'd use GR2 as its so damn versitile. It takes a little bit to get the sound you are looking for, and understand how the different models change your sound, but once you get that licked, you can pretty much get any tone you are looking for, whether its from a JCM or Rectifier, or even a Bassman. Its pretty much up to you and your imagination on what you want to use it for. As far as requirements, I ran it previously on a less than recommended system, and it ran pretty well. ASIO is a must for anything, I'd recommend no lower than a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 for it. I mainly use it on my primary system now, which is more than adaquite with 2gb ram and a X-fi. Ive used it playing live and i stress a low latency card is a MUST. Dont even bother with it if you are using one of them on board crappo 7 channel sound cards, it wont even start. Oh ya, and i found a nifty little proggie that changes all the graphics in the program to the actual hardware, not the renamed stuff. So if you are using boss or roland effects, it says so, and if its a Fender, or Marshall or Mesa Boogie you crave, it looks the part as well. Little eye candy goes a long way

Guitar Rig 2
I own guitar rig one and two, and just for your info, it's the best thing out there. If you take the time to experiment and tweak it, it's one of the most versatile modelers available. You really can get just about any sound you want. Sometimes it even sounds better than the real amps (some of which I owned/own) due to the fact that you can setup gear in so many ways that would normally be impossible or difficult in real life.

I haven't had a chance to use Aplitube2 yet, but I've been using Amplitube and Guitar Rig 1 for a few years now... And when GR2 was released, I've never looked back...
I was thinking of starting up a user preset database site, but it would be rather slow moving at first, having only me supply the presets at fist... still, I may still start one anyway...

At the time when I bought it, it cost me £350, that was without the controller pedal (I use GR1 pedal still)... But I believe you can buy it now for around £300 with the rig kontrol...

I've had O.K. success with recording Bass tracks, but I have not yet found a guitar track that was worth it for an actual recording. Don't get me wrong, I would love to be able to use it's versatility, but it seems like a bad fuzz box most of the time.
Can people trade presets? If so how?

You can export banks from GR2... I have a few 'Artist' preset banks, which include Several distortion, clean, solo etc effects...
Just select the bank and then click 'Save As' and save to somewhere...
To import, just copy the *.bnk file to the presets directory of GR2

Cool, so then, can someone pass on some presets that they think is cool here at G101 so I (we) can try some? Perhaps there is something I haven't tapped into yet.

Funny isn't that what the thread was originally made as?
