Has anyone used the digitech GNX4 presets in GuitarOne or GuitarWorld?

Has anyone used the GNX4 presets that are given monthly in guitarone or guitarworld? Are they legit, or far from the tone in the song? Im really interested in the GNX4 because all that i'm trying to do is match the sound of specific artists. Thanks guys

I have the gnx3, and I used to try the patches from guitar world and guitar one and they never sounded right, I just go by ear and tweak them myself.

Yeah, I run my GNX4 through a PA. I'm not sure how they sound through an amp but the sounds are close enough. You can come close with some tweeking. I like the patches from the mags though!

Have you tried getting any patches from the Digitech site?

http://www.digitech.com/soundcomm/gu...?productid=199

Thats the main site for the GNX processors and thats where I get all my user patches from. .

Justin,
Another suggestion is this, http://www.mtprosound.com/MFXSUPERMODELS.html/ This guy has been a sound engineer for 27 years and put together the best sounds that I've heard for a processor. I bought his disc for my GNX3 and have been very happy. Make sure to click on the audio samles on the link I gave you to hear some examples. Hundreds of amp models and artist patches!!

I'm not too big on paying for free stuff.

Thanks Guys

Thanks guys, I'm in the market for an effects modeler that will do the best job of duplicating tones that certain artists such as brian may (queen), tom sholtz(boston), neil sha(journey) and bunch more. I can't even come close with my pod 2.0 right now and i have subscriptions to guitar world and guitar one and i had noticed that the gnx4 had tones for it in every issue. Thanks for your input i really appreciate it!

GNX4 is great.. You may also want to consider the GNX3000 as well. It's digitech newest model and modeling technology. It does not contain the built in recorder, so that save you $100 bucks... The GNX3K has many artist presets already... From Floyd, Zakk Wylde, Dimebag, Satch, Vai (really good too), Holdworth, Greenday, Nirvana, Chet Atkins, Wes Montgomery and many more that I am not remembering...

Go play one and have the store plug it into a good amp using a clean channel and see if you like it... Also go this forum here for more questions and answere concerning both GNX4 And GNX3000
