Re: lets talk v amp 2 patches

I've been using the British Hi-Gain as well.
Treble and Gain full throtle, mids at less than half and bass just turneddown a little, with a delay peppered for texture

I am happy with my tone right now through the VAmp, so I don't bother with other settings that much.

Re: lets talk v amp 2 patches

There are many more variables than you listed such as room size, presence, spread ...etc. They are a pain to mess with unless you are using the Vamp editor software. I highly suggest getting it from the Behringer site....that way you can down load tons of .vxd patches (and we can swap them here also)

You are going to need a $20 MIDI cable to make it work....but it's worth it.

Ive got the v-amp 2 as well. Great product and price compared to line 6 stuff. In australia a pod will set you back about twice the price of a v-amp.

Re: lets talk v amp 2 patches

Attention all Vamp users:

While the POD can plug into a PC directly with a USB cable the Vamp2/Pro needs a MIDI control cable. I have one that goes from MIDI IN/OUT to USB I got at GC for $30.

Here is one at MF for $15 that uses the joystick port of your sound card. MIDI CABLE

After you get this, simply go Behringer web site
and download Vamp Editor Software.

Then you go Vamp.com and upload/download tons of custom patches.

You be able to store and recall lots of settings by song title and never actually touch the V-amp unit again...and have easy access to all the settings that are hard to get to with the front panel control menus.

Then you can make some really cool patches and post them here so I can try them out.

Re: lets talk v amp 2 patches

Thanks! I'm gonna try to stop by GC this week and pick up the cable going to the game port. My 2 USB ports are used by my mouse and printer without conflicts, and I would hate to screw that up!

Re: lets talk v amp 2 patches

I just grabbed a USB hub with more ports on it, I only have two myself and had the same problem. With standard USB you can connect up to 27 devices, something like that.

Re: lets talk v amp 2 patches

Scott, believe it or not, I use stock setting number one for most of the takes. I really have not messed with any of the options. I have plugged it into my amp and got a great tone and it seems amazing to get reverb out of a Marshall...experimenting with the volume knobs adds lots of tonal palate. I usually keep them about 2 or 3 instead of 10 using it and sometimes roll the tone controls to off for more variety...good luck experimenting. I love the thing!

Re: lets talk v amp 2 patches

you v-amp2 owners should try using the custom hi-gain amp, with about 3 mid, 7-8 treble, 7 bass, and 6-7 gain. cabinet 15, noise gate about 7, and little bit of delay to get that eddie tone (FUCK era, and 5150 and Van Halen3)
