Anyone else have one of these? I have a 1x12 version. Pretty cool. Can anyone reccomend any Van Halen settings for me?

Re: Line 6 Flextone II
I had the XL which was the 2 x 12" and I loved it...but it couldn't do a good VH so I sold it for a 5150. I wish I'd kept the amp for other stuff cos it was so versatile. The Boogie settings (Dual Rectifier) was bottomy as hell but my fave was the black fronted twin reverb...excellent for SRV stuff.

Re: Line 6 Flextone II
I have that amp in the 2x12 version, 100 Watt
Ironically I don't really look for the VH sound on purpose, sometimes find something close.
Generally I play a Recto setting with reverband delay, and add my modified Phase 90 to do the trick.
TheEQ varies a lot depending on where I stand in relation to the amp or the room, so I adjust according to my needs at the time.
I hope this helps.
Oh yeah, and you can pick the Soldano model too and tweak for a pretty good F.U.C.K tone.

Re: Line 6 Flextone II
Thanks man! Also, say I buy a dunlop wah. Could I hook it up to my flextone or do I have to use an actual line 6 pedal board? (depending on the effects loop jack)

Re: Line 6 Flextone II
The Line6 wah is amazing! The pedalboard gives you 36 presets you can save to, a tuner, volume pedal, noise gate, time control for the tap plus an amazing simulation of a 70's Crybaby. I'd say go for the board as it'll allow you to program and save with your feet. If you can afford it, it's well worth the investment. Check E-bay for the Line6 floorboard. Also a tip for you to get a bargain. Line6 is spelt with NO GAP between the Line and 6. A lot of people type it with a gap meaning that if you look under the PROPER spelling, not many will bid and you will get a bargain!

Re: Line 6 Flextone II
Thanks for the tip! I wasn't sure if the floorboard was worth it or not. Also, is the Flextone III any better than the II? I was gonna get one, but than I said to myself, "Why spend all that money when it is probably just a hyped up version of the same thing?"
What do I need on my PC to hook up my Flextone to it?

Re: Line 6 Flextone II
I really didn't rate it except for the effects like the MXR Phase 90 setting but you could always get the Modulation Modeller which has all your chorus, flange, phaser, ring modulator etc...you can pick one of those up for $120 on E-Bay. The II is IMHO better than the III but your best bet is to try it out and see.

Re: Line 6 Flextone II
As for hooking it up to your pc, just a midi interface into the midi in and out on the back and download the software that comes supplied.

Re: Line 6 Flextone II
My PC doesn't have a MIDI in. How can I get MIDI on my PC? And what will hooking my flextone up to it enable me to do?

Re: Line 6 Flextone II
You use one of the printer ports. It's fairly obvious when you see the connection...it'll be the only one that fits! The lead will be about $20. It allows you to get sound from the Line6 into your pc...:thumb Now stop the questions and go buy the fucker!

Re: Line 6 Flextone II
The MIDI Con looks like, resp. is, a joystick connector on the backside. If your mashine did not have one you can buy a cheap soundcard.
For good patches for the Flextone look at
www.patchwizard.com, they also have a couple of patches for download. Even if you have no MIDI you can use the patchwizard software, which is free, and tweak the amp according to the given patches by hand.
