Line 6 or Peavey?

Hi all,

I've just signed up here, and from what I've seen from browsing, I'm going to learn a lot.

I am looking to buy a practice amp in the upcoming months, and I've narrowed it down to two 30 watt modeler amps - a Peavey Vypyr 30 and a Line 6 Spider IV 30.

Both I can get for between $270 and $300 (I'm not sure if they're good prices, I haven't got that many guitar stores around me).

I plan on playing main rock, anything from soft hair metal to heavy metal, currently I have a Squier Strat with single coils, eventually I want to run EMG's, I'm not sure if pickups would have a major point with buying an amp.

When I buy the amp, I plan on getting decent cable, any suggestions? I'm impartial to Monster, I have some headphones from Monster and they are brilliant.

I can't really go over this budget as I have just bought a car, but I'm open to any other suggestions for amps.

Would would you pick?

I have to admit that I havnt tried the Peavey but the Line 6 Spider is great. If you can stretch to the Spider IV 75, you get a quick loop feature.
