Mesa Triple rec problems.

I got my Mesa Triple Rec a few months ago used. I had to order a footswitch and when I got it the switch wouldn't change the channels. I sent that switch back and got my new one only to experience the same thing; The Solo and FX features work but it wouldn't change the channels and the amp would be stuck on channel 2. Now the switch in the back of the amp could change the channels 1, 2, 3, but when set on footswitch went straight to channel 2. I took the amp back to Guitar Center and after calling up some amp techies they said it sounded like the 4 position rotary switch used as the amps channel switching device. I took the Mesa apart and took out the switch and it felt really rough. I put the switch and amp back together and now I cannot change the channels with either the footswitch or the knob on the back of the amp. The amp is stuck on channel 2. Not to mention all of my tubes are lit now and I don't remember it being like that but I'm not sure (someone please varify). Could all of this be caused by the switch being bad and basically shorting itself out? Any suggestions, tips, or ideas would be great. Thanks!
