Question

Pod XT Live vs. Boss GT-8

I currently have a Digitech RP-10 and an ART SGX Nitro. I am looking to modernize. I am not in a band, I just play for fun. I like to tinker with different sounds. I like to play cover stuff mostly when friends and I get together. I was wondering if anyone out there has experience with both the Pod XT Live and the Boss GT-8. I'm curious as to which one is preferred and for what reasons. The reviews on both are great on Harmonycentral.com, so I'm locked between the two.

The Pod XT Live seems to have a lot more stuff available (in terms of downloadable patches, software support, etc). From what I gather, the POD has more cabinet emulations, and the BOSS has less sound loss and smooth transition between effects.

Any advice would be helpful.

thanks
