Pod XT thinking

I have heard VERY good things about the pod XT and i amp thinking of getting one but i have marshall jcm 800 and a jmp-1 plugged in the power amp somtimes. I got the jmp so i can select from clean to dirty . is it worth me getting a XT? How would i connect it?

As it is classed as a pre amo can i plug it in the jmp?

Last thing can use a roland midi foot pedal to control it?

Re: Pod XT thinking

You'd connect it straight to your PC via USB and the software does the rest. As for a preamp, Rols reckons it ain't good and I think that with it being pure digital, it's best to keep it that way. I tinkered with the idea of getting a Marshall power amp and using mine for live but then I thought 'fuggit' and went for the amp version. It has MIDI IN and OUT so no reason why you couldn't control some of the parameters via a roland but don't ask me how! I like to plug and play!
