VAmp Pro Problems

Ok I just got a Vamp Pro and I have to say I truely love the sound (through the headphones) , however, when I put it through the board or into Acid Pro I get a hugh interference, like ac hum. I tried turning off everything in the room and I still get it. I am using the XLR digital output. The manual isn't very thorough, any suggestions on this problem or has anyone experienced this with the Vamp Pro?

Re: VAmp Pro Problems

I don't have one of those modeler thingys... but since you mentioned you are using a balanced plug, it basically sounds like you have a ground loop in your chain somewhere.

Try lifting the ground on the unit... there should be a switch for that on the back. And check this out for more details about ground loops.

Yup, the 'PRO has a ground loop switch. Try that - I haven't had any probs with mine (recording or live!!)

Re: VAmp Pro Problems

I have the vamp pro, use the XLR inputs and have never had a problem. Try the ground lift switch, or double check your cables to make sure they are both good.

You might have a bad one if it's new and has always had the problem.

Re: VAmp Pro Problems

Thanks guys for the suggestions, I haven't been to get back with you due to being a little under the weather the past few days. I will try exchanging the unit first and see if that is the problem cause I am doing everything right according to the manual. Appreciate it everything.
