hey there...yeah...i've got the valvetronix ad15vt...it has a variety of sounds to suit your mood/style...it's portable enough to sneak into work on a night shift...it's loud enough...(for me anyways)...it has adjustable parameters...including hidden ones...

I recommend this amp to anyone looking for a small amp with lots of soul, for home recording, or just practice, It is plenty loud and has lots of tonal variety. Great for blues and classic rock sounds. It also has amp models for other styles, but this is what I use it for.

I've had this little amp for about a month now, it sounds great with all my guitars. I have a Fender California Series Stratocaster, Gibson SG Jr, Gibson Les Paul Vintage Mahogany Studio.

The amp models are pretty realistic, and I am able to get great sounds recorded direct from the line out into my M-Audio firewire interface. The tweed 4x10 amp model with reverb added sounds better than my 1962 Fender Princeton......I hate to admit that, but it does.

Great little amp, so where are the hidden parameters???

Got a chance to "test drive" (read: "wank on") the 120 watt combo (2-12) the other day... AD120VTX I think. Anyhow it's the cat's a$$ as far as amp modeling is concerned... *IMO*... it runs circles around the Line 6 in picking response, overall warmth and genuine "tube amp"-osity...

The Vox sounds were what I was interested in hearing (I'm on my 'Beatles/60s British Invasion' kick again as of late) and for being digital it still nailed some of the chime and depth of the old AC30s very well. The Fender tweed/Twin/Bassman models also were just great and the 80s Marshall settings are good, though I think the Vox AC15/AC30TB/Fenders are where it shines most. I'm not too much into FX anymore (i.e. chorusing and the like) but the ones onboard are adequate although the Marshall and Soldano models sounded best with those FX. The higher gain "rectum-friers" and the "boutique" models were okay but I wasn't using a high gain p/up-equipped fiddle to demo it... so perhaps the results I got weren't privvy to what guitar the particular presets were designed for... plus I'm not into ultra-gain as much anyway and I thought the 50s/60s/70s vintage spankiness it has more than makes up for its lack of 90's "Uber-tude"...

Anyhow, for me at least... it's a bit expen$ive (well over a grand with the foot pedal thingy ) . However, if I was still gigging or recording I'd pick the Valvetronix amps over the Line 6 series... mostly for their responsiveness and the "far out" retro-sounding vibe that the Line 6 stuff lacks... *IMO*...

i have a vox avt120 and can tell you that its the best modeling amp out there. it just blows away anything line 6 or roland have ever done.the problem with most moddler amps is they sound sh*t when you turn them up loud. but the vox actully sounds better loud. ive used it at all my gigs for the last 2 years and ive had no trouble with at all. i dont use it in the studio i have a carvin legacy for that. (but that amp is another story)

Cool

I am another owner of a VOX AD120VTX, which in my opinion is the ultimate modelling amp.

Using it with the power selector at 2x1 watt , give me a extraordinary good sound with ampdistorsion in a "bedroom"-level. Amazing !!

The different amp modells are also very useful and well sounding, as well as the built in effects.

Over all , it is a amp for the bedroom as well as for big arenas !

I also have a Fender Cyber DeLuxe , which means I have qualified modelling amp to compare with.
The Fender is also good , but no doubt - the Vox is the winner !!

Finally a warning : Testing one - is wanting one !!

I just picked up th AD30VT last week and I absolutely love it! This thing is so versatile and all 11 amp models sound great. Anyone come up with any good patches you want to share?
