here is one I dinked around with for hrs it seem, anyway I think I have the delay and everything right but you be the judge.

Rol, the first bit is excellent, you have the tapping off pat. The second part you have the harmonics screwed up. First time round hit the E and B on the 7th fret and the second time the 5th fret. Also when you play the chords, you want an E maj going to a A maj that at the end of the run turns into a chord I can only desribe as the second one OVER the A thats in Thin Lizzy's Rosalie! When you tap the first bit are you doing a D shape on the 4th fret?

The tone sounds good on this Rol, lots of delay (reverb) but it sounds like that's what it calls for. You can upload the .gpt files directly to a post now, the same way you would upload a tune or a picture [img]images/smilies/icon_thumb.gif[/img]

thanks for the comments , I know about the harmonics but in the real recording Ed dubbed those in, if you want to stay in time you can only have time to ring one harmonic. I know since it's a solo spot right there it wouldn't matter but the second harmonic sounds rushed, when ed played it live he did the beginning just the way I did.
Also for the chording you must forgive me I learned that by ear long long ago and that's just the way it came out and I never messed with it actually havn't heard it in years so again forgive me.
For the Tapping I'm holding a 1st and 2nd finger barre chord . the 1st finger holds down the 5th string at the
7th fret the second is barring the 2nd,3rd and 4th at the 9th and you tap 12 frets above each, then hold 2nd string 7th, 3rd string 8th and 4th string 9th. then just slide it down to the 5th position and do it again.

Yeah it does! I've been doing it in a D shape on the 4th fret and the reason I'm finding it harder to make em chime is because I'm having to hit the top E and B string and there's less of them to get a good ring. Mine ain't brilliant but I don't find it hard to get those 2 harmonics in mate...thanks for putting me right! [img]images/smilies/icon_thumb.gif[/img]

I also start the tapping part on the 7th and 9th frets. Tapping the D G & B strings.

For the arpegiated part I grab the harmonics on the B & E strings with my pinky. Sometimes I getem sometimes I dont...

First of all, you all should know that EV tunes down a half step. That is the best way to get the true EV sound.

I am a new member to this FORUM. I think that the both of you play great. The only thing is that I believe that although close, you are both incorrect with the intro to WIL.

The person that plays it the best besides EV is Brian Young, the current lead guitarist for DLR. He was the former lead for the "Atomic Punks".

He is my current guitar instructor and he showed me the way he does it. I just let 3 of my friends hear your versions, and then mine. They all agree that mine sounds more like it.

But, truth is that you guys are far better guitarist and really tear it up. I wish to be half as accomplished. I keep making mistakes when I tap so it is not clean 100% of the time when I do it. Soon I will get there.
