Greatest Sportsman ever...simple he's..
Don Bradman
Who?
Australian Cricketer.
How the hell can this guy be rated the greatest ever?
Well lets look at the numbers shall we.
Many of the world's greatest sporting heroes have special numbers.
Gymnastics's Nadia Comaneci has 10, the first perfect score, achieved as a 14-year-old in the 1976 Montreal Olympics. Nadia would have had to score perfect 10s in the 1980 Moscow, 1984 Los Angeles and 1988 Seoul Olympics in her chosen sport to match Don Bradman's dominance in his.
Basketball's Michael Jordan has 23 on his singlet - and his retired number 45 is just as famous. Before he retired Jordan would need to score 65 points per game, nearly twice as many as he does now.
Baseball's Babe Ruth has 714, his total of home runs.
His average would have to improve by 50% to be in the same league as Sir Donald.
Tennis's Pete Sampras has a tally of 13 grand slam singles crowns. Sampras would have needed to won many more grand slam events on other surfaces to compare with The Don.
Golf's Tiger Woods has 12, his record winning margin in the 1997 US Masters. Early days yet, but could he be to golf what Sir Donald was to Cricket? He would need to win 1 in 3 of every major tournament he plays in.
Greatest track athlete of all time? (drug cheat!)Carl Lewis has 10 gold medals at 4 separate Olympics. His best leap ever was 8.87 metres, but he would have needed to jump over 10 metres to compare!
But cricket's Don Bradman has 99.94, his Test batting average at the end of his career. Still almost twice that of the next best ever.
Cheers
GO LIONS!
