just read up on Intertoto cup. It would appear Newcastle would only need to play a 2 legged match. winning that would put them into early stages of Uefa Cup. and on we go. Now we just have to hope scorelines transpire for us this weekend.

Yeah, the Intertoto's better than it used to be when you'd start playing a day after the football season ended and play 72 games against teams nobody ever heard of before August comes around.

But Bolton really have lost form, so I think you'll probably get the place in the end.

Chelsea probably won't put out a full team and even Franky Lampard shouldn't play. Assuming you get the same ref as we had, he'll deny them all penalty opportunites thus a draw at least is guaranteed (unless you score an own goal !).

i dunno with Chelsea anymore. if you have the money you probably would go get all the best players. But it feels like such a cold hearted corporation more so than it does a football team. hogging all the best players. what chance does anyone else have in reality ?. teams are getting closer for sure. but each time the rest of the Premiership takes a step forward Chelsea takes a step forward...

It's time a few other teams took a leap forward rather than a step. We'll see.

As for other things... World Cup fever is growing for sure. Pretty psyched to see what our lads can do. Gerrard seems to be in AWESOME form. time to get an England shirt on the go lol.

i think this season,nufc spent more then chelsea
.. remember owen , parker, emre, boumsong etc newcastle is one of the richest team yet for most of the season they are at near bottom until roeder rescued them... a good manager is more imporatant then money.. sure money plays a part but the manager is the most important... remember real madrid , inter milan? so much money but no titles.

Chelsea probably spent more on just 2 players than Newcastle spent on all their latest signings combined. the average price per player Chelsea seem to be spending is £20million. Owen cost us £16million and is our most expensive signing in our history.

Make no mistake. Newcastle is a big club. But the wealth of Chelsea dwarfs the wealth of Newcastle united. the only rivals in the WORLD for Chelsea cash wise are the likes of Man Utd and Real Madrid.
